Summary
Explore the night sky in a flowing prose meditation—its infinite beauty, fleeting stars, and the grounding presence of companionship.

So wondrous is the night sky that is not effected by light pollution. You can see how small and how large you are. Small in the vastness of the universe and large enough to comprehend and experience it.
So close do the planets, stars, and galaxies appear that you feel that you can take them in your hand. That distance is merely an illusion that you can span with your fingertips.
The night sky that was there long before you existed and will be there long after you are gone. And yet it makes you feel eternal when you look at it. Admiring its beauty and its sense of being infinite.
As impressive as the night sky is, it is even more so when you have someone beside you to experience it with you. Someone to assure you that in the vastness of the night sky you are not alone.
Stars form and Stars explode. Yet, within the expanse of the night sky there is a life giving and sustaining planet that is your home. Your home among all the worlds and a companion to share it with you.
So awesome is the feeling of completeness as you gaze into the night sky unfiltered by light pollution. This is when you are most grounded to the universe and your planetary home. This is when you can fully appreciate how small and how large you are.
A fiery asteroid on a flyby disappearing softly into the night sky. So far away from its home. So bright and yet so alone in the stillness of the night sky. Reminding you that wonders are fleeting and to relish each moment you have.
Billions of years have come and will go. The night sky is not conscious of time. But you can perceive space and time which helps you appreciate how finite and infinite you are.
And unlike a falling star in all its brightness before it disappears. You have a companion beside you who will not suddenly appear and just as suddenly vanish into the night sky.
This is why only one of so many planets in the night sky gave birth to you. It lets you experience its place and yours in a universal home.
